Responsibilities
- Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
- Write scalable, testable, supportable, and maintainable code.
- Own software from development through production and take responsibility for delivered solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Drive the direction of the apprenticeship program and mentor new and less experienced team members.
- Understand how individual contributions support the team, product, and broader organization.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience building modern, scalable, high-performing backend services.
- Professional experience deploying applications and managed services within AWS, including API Gateway, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Deep infrastructure-as-code expertise with AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar frameworks.
- Advanced NoSQL database modeling experience with DynamoDB, including Single Table Design, and deep knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres.
- Strong experience building APIs and understanding microservice event-driven design, ideally using Amazon EventBridge.
- Experience with Go is an asset.
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, deliver balanced solutions, communicate clearly, collaborate across distributed teams, and work effectively with asynchronous communication.
