Responsibilities
- Solve complex, large-scale technical problems.
- Develop scalable, testable, supportable, and maintainable code.
- Take ownership of code and deliver high-quality work.
- Participate actively in thorough code reviews and complex problem-solving efforts.
- Guide the mentorship program for new and less experienced team members.
- Understand and communicate the impact of work on the team, product, and Tackle organization.
- Collaborate with openness, inclusion, and respect for different perspectives.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience designing modern, scalable, and performant backend services.
- Professional experience deploying applications and managed services on AWS, including API Gateway, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code expertise using AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar frameworks.
- Advanced NoSQL database modeling experience with DynamoDB, including single-table design, plus deep knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres.
- Professional experience with Go is an asset.
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices, ideally using Amazon EventBridge.
- Ability to make balanced technical tradeoffs and maintain high standards for personal and team work.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a hybrid, distributed environment with asynchronous communication.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of English is required for collaboration with teams in the United States, India, Argentina, Ontario, and Alberta.
