Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of iOS and Android mobile applications for drone operators.
- Build maps, live video streaming, dynamic telemetry overlays, and other real-time visualization features.
- Implement offline-first synchronization for reliable operation during intermittent connectivity.
- Integrate mobile applications with external hardware through Bluetooth or proprietary controllers.
- Optimize battery efficiency, memory usage, performance, and low-latency data processing.
- Collaborate with backend and hardware teams on API contracts and low-level communication protocols.
- Implement field-adapted user interfaces with UI/UX designers.
- Establish mobile best practices for automated testing, crash reporting, and delivery workflows.
- Mentor junior developers and ensure secure handling of sensitive data and compliance with privacy requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping high-quality applications for both iOS and Android.
- Expertise with cross-platform mobile frameworks and strong ability to write native modules in Swift and Kotlin.
- Experience with real-time data streaming and complex state management for high-frequency updates.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with external hardware through Bluetooth or proprietary controllers.
- Hands-on experience with mobile mapping SDKs.
- Proficiency with profiling tools for diagnosing memory leaks and CPU bottlenecks.
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or public safety software is preferred.
- Experience with encrypted local storage, biometric authentication, and secure communication protocols is preferred.
- A history of shipping complex, data-heavy applications available in app stores is preferred.
- Ability to prototype quickly while maintaining production-grade code quality.
