Responsibilities
- Develop Tailscale’s product through open-source client code and related backend services.
- Design, build, test, and document core software components.
- Develop features involving the control plane, relay infrastructure, and identity integrations.
- Own running services by building observability, participating in incident response, and handling customer support escalations.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
- Collaborate with engineers, UX/UI designers, and product managers on feature development and strategic decisions.
- Apply a security-first mindset to software design and implementation.
Requirements
- Experience with distributed systems.
- Experience with the Go programming language.
- Experience with one or more SQL databases.
- Familiarity with networking, including IP addressing and routing.
- Ability to work independently and give and process constructive feedback.
- Flexibility in a dynamic startup environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
