Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Alpaca’s crypto exchange and market-making systems.
- Develop crypto wallet, funding, and tokenization services.
- Implement backend services and web applications.
- Maintain software quality and test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs.
- Provide on-call assistance for timely engineering projects when requested.
Requirements
- Experience with trading systems and with building exchanges, market-making systems, matching engines, or other high-throughput, low-latency, regulated, fault-tolerant financial systems.
- Experience building crypto systems.
- BSc/MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 4 years of backend software development experience.
- Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Go, C, or C++; the platform is based in Go.
- Experience with messaging queues and message brokers.
- SQL or relational database skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of Bash, Linux, and Docker.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, CKA or CKAD certification, major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, financial markets, and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, microservice architectures, and clean code principles is preferred.
