Base Salary
$116k - $164k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own small-to-medium product API features from technical design through launch, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build and extend REST and gRPC APIs for Exposure Management and Supplier Risk Intelligence, including SIEM integration endpoints.
- Partner with frontend engineers and product stakeholders on API contracts, filtering, pagination, and response shapes.
- Integrate data and services from other teams through gRPC and GCP Pub/Sub.
- Optimize API performance using Postgres query plans, indexing, caching, and payload-size improvements.
- Write tests, add observability, and take release and on-call responsibility for shipped services.
- Incorporate customer feedback into designs and help onboard interns and newer engineers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building backend services.
- Production experience with Go, or strong experience with Python or Java and the ability to become proficient in Go quickly.
- Experience designing and consuming REST or gRPC APIs, preferably for frontend applications.
- Solid SQL skills and knowledge of relational data modeling, indexing, and query performance.
- Experience building maintainable software with tests enforced in CI, monitoring and alerting, and thoughtful code reviews.
- Clear written and verbal communication with engineers, product managers, and other teams.
- Preferred qualifications include security-product experience, external developer API experience, OpenAPI and webhooks knowledge, event-driven systems experience with GCP Pub/Sub or Kafka, Kubernetes deployment experience in GCP or AWS, AI coding-tool fluency, and familiarity with DNS, WHOIS, and certificate SANs.
Benefits
- Salary ranges from $116,450 USD to $140,500 USD for most US locations and from $137,000 USD to $164,000 USD for high-cost-of-living areas, plus bonus eligibility and equity.
- Benefits are effective on day one and include a 401k match, health insurance, vision insurance, and dental insurance.
- The position is remote within the United States or Canada, with eligibility across the continental US or Canada.
