Responsibilities
- Own 24x7 health and operational readiness for Skylo’s hybrid production infrastructure, including GCP, Kubernetes, bare-metal systems, storage, databases, networking, and observability.
- Serve as the L3 escalation authority for cloud infrastructure incidents and lead technical troubleshooting bridges through resolution or structured engineering handoff.
- Operate and improve Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki or ELK, and alert-routing pipelines.
- Maintain PostgreSQL replication, backup and restore procedures, failover testing, query performance, and Redis cluster reliability.
- Own GitOps operations, including ArgoCD or Flux CD synchronization, Helm management, drift remediation, rollback execution, and infrastructure change readiness.
- Define SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity plans, and reliability practices tied to network service-level commitments.
- Lead root-cause analysis, post-incident actions, diagnostic runbooks, operational standards, and infrastructure automation initiatives.
- Mentor Senior NREs and collaborate with platform, network implementation, security, core network, and RAN engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of infrastructure engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud operations experience in a production 24x7 environment.
- Direct on-call ownership and deep Kubernetes expertise covering multi-cluster operations, node pools, RBAC, network policies, PVCs, CSI drivers, operators, and cluster upgrades.
- Hands-on experience operating both public cloud such as GCP or AWS and on-premise or private cloud infrastructure.
- Production ownership of Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, OpenTelemetry, and alerting pipelines using Pub/Sub or an equivalent.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication and reliability, Redis operations, GitOps tooling, Helm, and Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge of SLO, SLI, SLA, error budget, toil, capacity planning, container runtime, Linux, storage, and network troubleshooting practices.
- Ability to author executable diagnostic runbooks and produce structured RCA documents and engineering escalations.
- Preferred qualifications include telecom or NTN infrastructure, Ceph or Rook, KubeVirt, Harvester, OpenStack, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, software-defined networking, hardware load balancers, Go or Python, FinOps, and listed infrastructure certifications.
