Principal Architect-AI/ML
HARMAN InternationalResponsibilities
- Develop and optimize Small Language Models for in-vehicle conversational AI, context-aware reasoning, and intent handling.
- Deploy AI models on edge devices using CPU, NPU, and GPU resources.
- Work with VLM/VLA models for scene understanding, multimodal perception, and interaction.
- Build edge and cloud AI pipelines for real-time inference and hybrid execution.
- Develop AI orchestration layers for intent and tool routing, policy engines, scheduling, coordination, and cross-domain context management.
- Integrate voice technologies, visual perception, sensor-fusion signals, cockpit systems, ADAS, and connected services.
- Design ML pipelines and MLOps workflows for model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Contribute to end-to-end automotive AI platforms while collaborating with embedded software, cloud/data engineering, HMI, and system integration teams.
- Ensure solutions align with safety, cybersecurity, and automotive standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience in deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and LLM/SLM fine-tuning and optimization.
- Experience with VLM/VLA or other multimodal AI models.
- Hands-on experience with AI agents, tool-using LLMs, orchestration frameworks, and MCP Servers.
- Experience deploying models on embedded or edge platforms and in Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
- Python experience is mandatory; C++ experience is preferred.
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, API-based AI integration, model lifecycle management, CI/CD pipelines, and data pipelines.
- Preferred experience includes automotive domains such as ADAS, cockpit, and connectivity; speech AI; AUTOSAR or embedded systems; vehicle data platforms; simulation; digital twins; validation platforms; and optimized edge inference using C++ APIs or NNAPI.
