Staff Engineer, iOS
AlphaSenseResponsibilities
- Own the iOS platform foundation, including application architecture, modular boundaries, and native engineering patterns.
- Lead hands-on system design and development using Swift, SwiftUI, and Swift concurrency.
- Shape mobile testing, automation, observability, rollout, and AI-enabled validation practices.
- Align mobile teams with Android and backend teams on API behavior, failure modes, authentication, sessions, performance, ownership, and technical decisions.
- Mentor engineers, share knowledge, shape technical culture, and raise standards for system design, operational quality, and execution.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in iOS platform architecture, modular design, performance, security, reliability, SwiftUI, and modern Swift concurrency in production systems.
- Ability to reason across mobile systems, including Android constraints, backend API behavior, authentication and session flows, release risks, and client/backend service contracts.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, AI harnesses, evaluation practices, or AI-driven testing systems.
- Experience with testing strategy, automation, observability, CI/CD, and production mobile quality practices.
- Track record of leading significant technical initiatives, setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and raising technical standards across teams.
- Strong product judgment and communication skills, including experience aligning teams through RFCs, ADRs, technical plans, or decision records.
- Preferred experience with iPadOS, macOS, or multi-platform Apple products.
- Preferred experience with enterprise mobile applications, MDM/MAM, or regulated customer environments.
- Preferred experience building or adopting design systems in production mobile applications.
- Preferred experience contributing to backend services or APIs using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
