Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend microservices using clean architecture and clear separation between domain, application, infrastructure, and API layers.
- Build and maintain REST and/or GraphQL APIs with consistent data contracts and request and response models.
- Implement event-driven integrations using message queues, including webhook handling, retries, and error handling.
- Design data models and persistence logic for NoSQL and relational databases using maintainable repository and unit-of-work patterns.
- Implement JWT authentication and authorization integrations with identity providers.
- Write unit, integration, and BDD-style tests and maintain test coverage.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized cloud deployments, including AWS ECS.
- Participate in code reviews, uphold engineering standards, mentor less experienced developers, and collaborate with architects, QA, and other developers.
- Mentor engineers in effective use of AI coding tools within structured development workflows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience building backend services with C#/.NET.
- Experience designing and building microservices, including REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge of clean architecture or comparable layered design patterns.
- Experience with NoSQL and/or relational databases, data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
- Practical experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as AWS SQS/SNS or equivalent services.
- Experience writing automated unit, integration, and/or BDD tests and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work pragmatically in an agile team environment and prioritize work under sprint deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to identify blockers, gaps, and risks early.
- Experience with disciplined AI-assisted software development, specification-driven development, TDD, and iterative refactoring.
- Preferred experience with ASP.NET Core, MediatR, CQRS, xUnit, Reqnroll/BDD, and FluentValidation.
- Preferred AWS experience, including ECS, SQS, SNS, or similar managed container and queue services.
- Preferred experience with Docker, containerized deployments, e-commerce or transactional domains, Keycloak or Azure AD, and third-party webhook integrations.
