Base Salary
$165k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed with feature teams to understand context-layer data needs and use those insights to drive the platform roadmap.
- Build the technical vision and roadmap for knowledge graph, RAG, retrieval, and search data products.
- Design and own multi-tenant access control and RBAC for agent identity and fine-grained permissions.
- Define scalable, ergonomic APIs, SDKs, and developer interfaces.
- Partner with data engineering on platform dependencies and infrastructure reliability.
- Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and technical standards.
- Address data governance, lineage, security, and auditability requirements.
- Contribute to hiring, documentation, onboarding, and platform adoption.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on data-layer or search/retrieval infrastructure.
- Production experience designing and building knowledge graphs and/or large-scale retrieval and search systems.
- Deep expertise in RAG architectures, vector databases, embedding-based retrieval, evaluation, quality tuning, and relevance optimization.
- Strong understanding of access control and RBAC in multi-tenant, data-rich environments.
- Experience designing developer-facing APIs and SDKs that are intuitive and widely adopted.
- Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and auditability requirements in enterprise or regulated contexts.
- Ability to lead technical direction across multiple teams and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Experience with Python and/or Java and comfort across data engineering, backend systems, and platform infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills across engineering, product, data, and leadership.
