Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise observability solutions for dashboards, alerts, metrics, logs, and traces.
- Implement, support, and scale observability platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Automate observability onboarding, dashboard provisioning, and monitoring workflows using scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, SRE, and cloud engineering teams to establish observability standards and best practices.
- Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimization opportunities.
- Support incident management with operational insights and root-cause analysis.
- Contribute to observability governance, documentation, adoption, and developer-experience initiatives.
- Ensure applications meet observability non-functional requirements and enterprise standards while identifying telemetry gaps.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 2 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, Application Support, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or Observability is desired.
- Experience with at least one observability platform such as Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, New Relic, or Elastic.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, cloud platforms, and distributed tracing is desired.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages is desired.
- Understanding of REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, SRE principles, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets is desired.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native technologies, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins is desired.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are desired.
