Responsibilities
- Implement features and bug fixes for App Platform and Functions services in Go.
- Contribute to gRPC and HTTP APIs, reconciliation loops, and application and function lifecycle workflows.
- Improve Kubernetes-backed deployments, networking, autoscaling, controllers, workload isolation, observability, and healing.
- Enhance serverless runtime cold-start performance, warm-path behavior, reliability, isolation, and operational tooling.
- Participate in on-call rotations, investigate production issues, write runbooks, and own contributed services.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and improve reliability and operability.
- Collaborate with App Platform, Functions, Edge, Networking, and adjacent product teams.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production services.
- Proficiency in Go or a strong background in another typed systems language with the ability to ramp quickly.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes concepts including Deployments, Services, Controllers/Operators, resource limits, and networking basics.
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts including replication, latency trade-offs, failure modes, and reconciliation.
- Exposure to containerized environments, microservices, and SQL databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
- Ability to troubleshoot ambiguous bugs and production issues, document work clearly, and collaborate effectively.
- Preferred experience includes PaaS, serverless platforms, multi-tenant control planes, service meshes, CNI networking, autoscaling, scale-to-zero patterns, event-driven systems, webhooks, runtime isolation, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Prometheus-based observability, and production on-call work.
