Responsibilities

Develop end-to-end AI use cases, from rapid prototyping through user experience implementation.
Engineer prompts and build solutions using Azure OpenAI, GPT, Azure AI services, and other Azure services.
Develop agentic AI solutions and integrate AI services with existing systems.
Design and integrate RESTful APIs connecting AI models with other software systems.
Build and support data engineering solutions, including ETL/ELT pipelines, big data processing, and orchestration.
Document code, processes, workflows, and AI architectures clearly and precisely.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary, design, product, business, and client teams to define and implement AI use cases.
Participate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, training, and technological research.
Follow software development, security, performance, DevOps, and data practices.
Educate technical and business leaders on generative AI usage and appropriate AI complexity.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
3–7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
Practical experience designing, developing, and implementing AI projects, particularly with OpenAI or large language models.
In-depth knowledge of GPT and other pretrained language models and their applications.
Expertise with agentic approaches, including OpenAI Agent SDK and MCP Tools.
Experience with Azure AI services and their integration into comprehensive solutions.
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Hands-on experience with big data frameworks such as Spark, ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration tools.
Knowledge of cloud architecture, data lakes or warehouses, and scalable data infrastructure.
Experience with Azure Functions, SQL databases, cloud architecture, RESTful API development, and business intelligence processes is appreciated.
Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
Strong prompt-engineering, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams and adapt to new technologies.
Fluent English is required; Dutch or French is a plus.

12-month freelance engagement with an ASAP start.
Hybrid working model requiring two days per week onsite in Brussels.
