Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to implement large-scale Big Data solutions using Cloudera Data Platform and Cloudera Dataflow.
- Design and implement Hadoop and NiFi platform architectures and configurations.
- Install and upgrade advanced secured cluster configurations.
- Analyze complex distributed production deployments and recommend performance optimizations.
- Document and present complex architectures to customer technical teams.
- Drive customer consulting projects to successful completion.
- Produce technical documentation, blogs, and knowledge-base articles.
- Support pre- and post-sales activities by interpreting customer requirements for sales and product teams.
- Attend speaking engagements as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Information Technology and Systems Architecture experience.
- 5+ years of customer-facing Professional Services experience architecting large-scale storage, data center, or globally distributed solutions.
- 5+ years designing and deploying three-tier architectures or large-scale Hadoop solutions.
- Experience understanding Big Data use cases and recommending Hadoop-based and streaming-data design patterns.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, data integration, and the broader data management ecosystem.
- Experience implementing data transformation and processing solutions.
- Experience designing queries against HDFS data using tools such as Apache Hive.
- Experience setting up multi-node Hadoop clusters and configuring LDAP/AD and Kerberos/SPNEGO security.
- Strong enterprise Linux experience and understanding of enterprise security solutions, networking, and the Java ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
- Experience architecting data center solutions and selecting server and storage hardware based on performance, availability, and ROI.
- Cloudera Software or HDP certification, including HDPCA or HDPCD, is a plus.
- Fluency in English, Spanish, and Italian; EU work eligibility; and availability to travel up to 30%.
