Base Salary
$139k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own multiple services within the cluster orchestration platform
- Advance SUNK (Slurm on Kubernetes) and the Kubernetes-native orchestration platform
- Lead design and code reviews
- Decompose projects into milestones and drive measurable reliability and performance improvements
- Define SLIs and SLOs for owned services
- Strengthen operational practices and improve throughput, latency, and system resilience
- Mentor IC1 and IC2 engineers
- Build orchestration capabilities that help customers run AI training and inference workloads across large GPU clusters
Requirements
- Approximately 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building distributed systems or cloud services
- Strong Go programming skills and solid computer science fundamentals
- Python or C++ experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience running Kubernetes at production scale
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry observability stacks
- Ability to improve service reliability and performance using metrics such as P95/P99 latency, throughput, and error budgets
- Preferred familiarity with Ray, Kubeflow, Kueue, Istio, Knative, or Argo Workflows
- Preferred experience with distributed workloads, GPU-based applications, or ML pipelines
- Preferred knowledge of quota enforcement, pre-emption, and scaling strategies
- Preferred exposure to SLOs, alarms, and post-incident reviews
