Responsibilities
- Build production-ready prototypes, modular frontend components, and core user-facing features.
- Redesign and refine key features and flows by identifying visual issues and UX friction.
- Participate in project kickoffs and propose visual direction based on product and audience understanding.
- Champion performance, accessibility, maintainability, responsiveness, animation, loading states, and typography quality.
- Audit LLM-generated output and apply independent engineering judgment to produce elegant solutions.
- Collaborate directly with teammates and leadership in a small, fast-moving product organization.
Requirements
- Typically 4+ years of Frontend or Design Engineer experience.
- Deep professional experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- High fluency with Tailwind and modern CSS, including container queries, cascade layers, specificity, OKLCH color spaces, view transitions, flexbox, and grid.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and performance metrics including Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse.
- Portfolio of shipped interfaces demonstrating responsibility for both design and frontend implementation, with clear explanation of decisions and trade-offs.
- Deep understanding of design workflows and the technical or hardware constraints surrounding them.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain or currently hold a Secret or Top Secret U.S. security clearance.
