Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications using Node.js, Express.js, and Koa.
- Build secure, reusable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and integrate authentication and authorization systems using OAuth and JWT.
- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries, and use SQL-based databases when appropriate.
- Implement API, data-flow, database, encryption, and data-protection security best practices.
- Debug production systems, analyze logs and metrics, resolve root causes, and address performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Contribute to AI and LLM integrations, agent-based systems, media streaming, voice processing, and real-time services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and other cross-functional team members, and document code, APIs, and database schemas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MongoDB.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+, promises, async/await, modules, closures, event-driven patterns, concurrency, and non-blocking I/O.
- Experience with Express.js and Koa, including API design, middleware, routing, validation, error management, and application structuring.
- Hands-on experience with database schema design, query optimization, execution-plan analysis, and indexing strategies.
- Proficiency with SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL in addition to MongoDB.
- Experience implementing OAuth, JWT, token-based authentication, role-based access control, and secure web practices.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve production issues with minimal disruption.
- Familiarity with real-time audio/video streaming, streaming protocols, low-latency architectures, or high-throughput media pipelines.
- Exposure to speech-to-text, text-to-speech, VoIP integrations, or real-time communication systems.
- Experience integrating machine-learning models or LLM APIs, managing inference workflows, prompt orchestration, or building AI-powered backend services.
- Experience designing agent-based systems, tool orchestration, workflow automation, state management, or event-driven intelligent systems.
- Understanding of backend security, data protection, encryption, secure API design, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Experience with Jest, Mocha, or Chai and proficiency with Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven systems, Redis, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
