Responsibilities
- Develop cloud-native architecture for Royal Canadian Navy cloud component systems and the Synthetic Training Hub.
- Identify or recommend Horizon and Synthetic Training Hub open-source or commercial components available as containers or suitable for containerization.
- Create architectural, network traffic, firewall, authentication workflow, and security-control documentation.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code deployments for Navy organizational infrastructure, cloud component systems, and the Synthetic Training Hub.
- Build TLA components from source and create containers for Horizon Kubernetes deployments.
- Develop Synthetic Training Hub containers supporting cooperative multi-user modeling and simulation scenarios and their user-experience infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university or recognized equivalent, or a recognized college technical diploma in science, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience as a software developer.
- At least four recent years of experience as a Software Architect designing, developing, and deploying software systems.
- Experience deriving functional requirements, designing and developing complex software and IT architectures, and working across multiple projects.
- Experience working in Microsoft and Unix/Linux operating system environments, integrating and testing software, maintaining software design documentation, and determining and implementing IT infrastructure.
- Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret Level II Canadian Federal Government security clearance, VCR clearance, and Controlled Goods clearance.
