Base Salary
$160k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand the HD Mapping production pipeline.
- Process, clean, validate, and annotate large-scale LiDAR point clouds, roadway features, and 3D objects.
- Validate road-network topology, including lane connectivity, intersection logic, and turn constraints.
- Develop and maintain Python-based geospatial data-processing tools and optionally contribute to performance-critical C++ components.
- Manage large spatial datasets using Azure cloud infrastructure and perform advanced spatial queries with PostGIS.
- Support data migration, versioning, and format conversion across OSM, OpenDrive, and Lanelet.
- Coordinate remote freelancers and distributed contributors while collaborating with autonomy, perception, and planning teams.
- Manage Jira tickets, contribute to sprint planning, provide structured progress reports, and maintain quality under tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, geospatial engineering, robotics, civil engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least three years of professional experience in geospatial systems, mapping, or related fields.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with geospatial libraries such as GDAL, Shapely, and GeoPandas.
- Experience with PostGIS, spatial indexing, advanced spatial queries, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with GIS platforms and mapping tools including ArcGIS, QGIS, MicroStation, CloudCompare, OpenCities, TerraSolid, or Lidar360.
- Experience with large-scale mapping or geospatial production projects and LiDAR processing workflows.
- Familiarity with OSM, Lanelet, OpenDrive, GeoJSON, LAS, and LAZ data formats.
- C++ experience, HD mapping for autonomous vehicles, road-network topology validation, routing algorithms, graph-based road modeling, geospatial automation pipelines, sensor calibration, or distributed contributor management is preferred.
