Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and deliver scalable software supporting payment authorization and transaction-processing capabilities.
- Own technical work across requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production readiness.
- Build Java and Spring Boot applications using REST APIs, SQL, messaging technologies, and modern engineering frameworks.
- Design quality engineering strategies covering functional, integration, regression, API, data, messaging, and end-to-end validation.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks using Cucumber BDD, Selenium, TestNG, Maven, Postman, and comparable tools.
- Apply Generative AI and agentic engineering to software development and quality engineering, including AI-assisted development, test generation, code analysis, and validation workflows.
- Support payment flows involving POS transactions, authorization connectivity, ISO 8583 messaging, APIs, data validation, Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, and REST services.
- Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift, and code-quality tools.
- Troubleshoot complex engineering issues using logs, data, message traces, and observability tools.
- Create proofs of concept, technical documentation, standards, and reusable engineering guidance.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and platform teams to resolve dependencies and deliver solutions.
- Mentor engineers, conduct reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions, and influence engineering practices across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong professional experience in software engineering, quality engineering, automation engineering, or related technology disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, XML/JSON, Maven, Git, and Unix/Linux.
- Experience implementing automated testing with Cucumber BDD, Selenium, TestNG, Postman, or comparable tools.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, software design, test automation, CI/CD, Agile delivery, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with Generative AI-assisted software engineering, prompt/context engineering, Custom GPT capabilities, IDE-based agents, or agentic workflows.
- Experience applying AI capabilities to software or quality engineering use cases.
- Experience with payment processing, authorization systems, POS transactions, ISO 8583, or similar high-volume transaction platforms.
- Experience with Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, or comparable distributed messaging and event-driven technologies.
- Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, API, data, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- Experience using diagnostic or observability tools such as Splunk, Kibana, Wireshark, or JMeter.
- Ability to independently own complex technical assignments, collaborate across engineering teams, mentor colleagues, and communicate with technical and leadership audiences.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale payment, fraud/risk, or financial-services experience; GenAI and agentic engineering implementation; reusable AI context and agent workflows; quality engineering transformation; technical proofs of concept and enablement; cross-team influence; and relevant professional certifications.
