Responsibilities
- Design, develop, release, maintain, and support infotainment audio software and middleware.
- Develop C++ and Java modules for Android, QNX, and Linux platforms.
- Develop Android framework components, Linux middleware, drivers, and applications for custom GM implementations.
- Work with large codebases while creating new software and maintaining existing software.
- Perform requirements analysis, functional decomposition, design analysis, system requirement balancing, prototyping, testing, refinement, and anomaly correction.
- Create unit tests and contribute to software quality, performance, and embedded-system testing.
- Lead software system design content and generate technical solutions for current, new, and major programs.
- Document software development processes and communicate common best practices across the software community.
- Act as a subject matter expert for at least one platform or application component.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed engineers using Scrum/Agile processes and occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on C++ experience.
- Object-oriented C++ software development experience with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Experience working with large codebases and developing both new and existing software.
- Experience with Android/AOSP components, frameworks, and architecture, including applications, application framework, and multimedia.
- Experience in multithreaded environments and IPC communication.
- Knowledge of test development and testing embedded-system firmware.
- Software platform development experience with Linux and Android.
- Commercial software development experience in C++, Java, and C.
- Familiarity with Android development toolkits, test frameworks, and development processes.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, or similar SCM and development tools.
- Experience with Scrum/Agile software development and serving as a Scrum Master.
- Ability to perform complex diagnostics and investigations using limited information.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, delivery, and schedule-commitment skills.
