Base Salary

$205k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

Build and operate blockchain ingestion, indexing, storage, API-serving, and streaming systems.
Handle reorganizations, retries, duplicate events, historical backfills, failure recovery, and data correctness concerns.
Improve query performance, data freshness, observability, API capabilities, chain coverage, and event-delivery guarantees.
Reduce storage, processing, and serving costs through measured architecture and query-execution improvements.
Participate in production support and incident response, maintaining monitoring, runbooks, safe rollouts, and preventive fixes.
Partner with Product and customer-facing teams to translate developer needs into scoped projects and measure their impact.
Ship a customer-facing improvement and take ownership of a production component within the first three months.

Demonstrated experience independently designing, shipping, and operating production backend or distributed data systems.
Strong programming skills in a production backend language and experience with databases, indexing, and query performance.
Understanding of consistency, partitioning, asynchronous processing, and failure recovery.
Ability to diagnose production problems and improve systems beyond the immediate fix.
Sound API design judgment covering compatibility, pagination, error handling, and data contracts.
Clear communication skills and the ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into scoped engineering projects.
Blockchain experience is helpful but not required.
Helpful experience includes ClickHouse or other analytical databases, Kafka or similar streaming systems, blockchain indexers, EVM logs and traces, finality, non-EVM data models, developer-facing data APIs, real-time delivery, large historical datasets, storage migrations, and production performance or cost optimization.
