Responsibilities
- Set and drive the architectural design and strategic technical direction for the Secure Web Gateway team.
- Design and implement reliable, sustainable, scalable, and observable cloud data-plane features.
- Build high-throughput, low-latency services that inspect HTTP/HTTPS and other network protocols at line rate using C, C++, and Python.
- Analyze traffic in real time for security purposes and integrate capabilities such as DLP and threat protection.
- Develop sophisticated key-management algorithms and provide architectural guidance based on customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, improve engineering practices, and transform software development toward an AI-native, agent-first culture.
- Work through complex customer issues and represent the company at external forums and industry events.
Requirements
- 18+ years of overall professional experience, including 10+ years building high-performance networking software and cloud services.
- Expertise with high-throughput and low-latency data systems, networking from Layer 3 through Layer 7, web proxies, security, monitoring, observability, applications, or data processing.
- Expertise solving complex architectural problems across multiple products while addressing module-level design issues.
- Mastery of C, C++, or Python and the ability to review code in these and other popular programming languages.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, multithreading, CPU scheduling, memory management, and Linux at the system or kernel level.
- Understanding of AI tools and models and the ability to apply them effectively to projects and workflows.
- Hands-on experience handling complex and ambiguous customer issues, with strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using debugging and diagnostic tools such as gdb and Valgrind; knowledge of unit-testing frameworks is beneficial.
- Willingness to work with globally distributed teams across time zones and represent the company externally.
- BSCS or equivalent required; MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred.
