Responsibilities
- Own the long-term technical vision, architecture, and strategic direction of a core domain.
- Lead cross-team design discussions, architectural reviews, and major technical initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Engineers, and Product Owners to translate business goals into technical strategy.
- Drive standards for security, scalability, and performance.
- Champion agentic-first development, automation, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, and technical guidance.
- Unblock multiple engineering teams and establish technical standards.
- Contribute to group-wide engineering strategy, technology selection, and platform direction.
- Act as the escalation point for the most complex technical decisions in the domain.
Requirements
- Experience designing and scaling large, mission-critical systems serving real users at scale.
- Experience making architectural decisions with long-term impact and articulating technical trade-offs.
- Ability to align senior engineers around complex technical decisions without formal authority.
- Deep expertise in a specific technical domain such as payments, logistics, customer experience, or AI/ML.
- Experience shaping the direction of a technical domain.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and improving their problem-solving approach.
- Strong interest in using AI to transform engineering workflows.
- Proficiency in Java and React.
- Preferred: open-source contributions or technical conference presentations.
- Preferred: familiarity with multiple programming paradigms and technology stacks.
- Preferred: exposure to cross-regional or multi-country technology operations.
