Base Salary
$109k - $147k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on research and development opportunities aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Develop innovative solutions, use cases, software prototypes, and systems prototypes for difficult technology problems.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, code reviews, and test plan reviews.
- Collaborate on integration strategies for technologies across the company and industry.
- Represent Verisign in external forums and publicize research results in appropriate internal and external channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field with five or more years of software development experience, or a master's degree with three or more years of experience, or a PhD in a related technical field.
- Experience in research engineering, systems development research, or prototype development.
- Development experience with C, C++, Java, and/or Python.
- Experience presenting ideas and prototypes at public forums such as technical conferences.
- Authorship of one or more peer-reviewed publications.
- Preferred experience with network security, cryptography, privacy, identification, authentication, and open-standard Internet protocols or services.
- Preferred experience analyzing large-scale network traffic data and using Unix-like operating systems.
- Preferred experience creating and using SQL, NoSQL, or equivalent data storage schemas.
