Base Salary
$109k - $147k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on research and development opportunities aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Develop innovative solutions, use cases, software, and systems prototypes for difficult technology problems.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, code reviews, and test plan reviews.
- Collaborate on integration strategies for technologies across Verisign and the broader industry.
- Represent Verisign in external forums and publicize research results through appropriate internal and external channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field with 5 or more years of software development experience, or a master's degree in a related technical field with 3 or more years of software development experience; a PhD is highly preferred.
- Experience in research engineering, systems development research, or prototype development.
- Development experience with C, C++, Java, and/or Python.
- Experience presenting ideas and prototypes at public forums such as technical conferences.
- Authorship on one or more peer-reviewed publications.
- Preferred experience with network security, cryptography, privacy, identification, authentication, Internet protocols or services, large-scale network traffic analysis, research teams, *nix operating systems, and SQL or NoSQL data storage.
