Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, test, and maintain the NCBI Taxonomy Information System
- Work with scientists, bioinformaticians, and developers to support and improve the NCBI Taxonomy project
- Learn new technologies, maintain familiarity with internal systems, and share knowledge with the team
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science
- At least three years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in C++ and JavaScript
- Experience working in a distributed computing environment
- Programming experience in a Linux environment
- Experience with relational databases, Microsoft SQL, or similar systems
- Experience with Linux shell scripts
- Bonus: experience with web services, web-based and network APIs, AWS or Google Cloud, and ExtJS/Sencha toolkits
