Base Salary
$185k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate systems benefiting Amazon Redshift clusters worldwide.
- Own product vision, define new features and architecture, and convert ambiguous requirements into customer-focused projects.
- Deliver software end to end across design, development, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Lead engineers on substantial projects and mentor and help hire team members.
- Create metrics, implement automation, improve software architecture, and resolve root causes of software defects.
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical input for cross-functional business decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, Java, or Rust for building and operating mission-critical, highly available systems.
- Preferred: 5+ years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and demonstrated software engineering experience through prior work, internships, coding competitions, or publications.
- Preferred: experience with distributed multi-tiered systems architecture and live system/core analysis using GDB.
