Responsibilities

  • Provide software development services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements.
  • Analyze information and recommend solutions to business and technical issues.
  • Participate in team discussions and provide guidance and subject-matter expertise.
  • Perform coding, unit testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions.
  • Ensure expected application performance levels are achieved.
  • Follow BNY’s standard development methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience with strong server-side Java 8 or higher proficiency.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience with Angular and front-end UI technologies.
  • Experience with the Spring Framework and proficiency with Spring Boot.
  • Strong coding and troubleshooting experience with web services and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong messaging experience, preferably with IBM MQ.
  • Strong SQL skills for work with relational databases.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Angular 16 or higher, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with automation testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cucumber.
  • Experience with AI development tools such as Copilot or Windsurf.
  • Strong experience with software development lifecycle and DevOps processes, including CI/CD tools and Git.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, and Moogsoft.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, learning, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and pipelines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies is preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
