Responsibilities
- Create long term technical vision for the organization and identify incremental value delivery paths.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and performant services and systems.
- Make significant hands-on contributions to deliver critical projects and bring value to customers.
- Lead by example to uphold high engineering standards and elevate quality across Stripe.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, design, infrastructure, and operations.
- Mentor and coach individual contributors and managers to develop future leaders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building, operating, and evolving large-scale, high-performance APIs and services.
- Deep experience with distributed computing systems.
- Empathetic, collaborative, and user-first mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for helping others grow and learn.
- Preference for simple solutions and designs.
- Desire to seek feedback proactively from users and teammates.
- Ability to manage speed, complexity, and scope in service of user needs.
