Responsibilities
- Generate test requirements and define test methodologies for software and related hardware and firmware.
- Design and execute manual and automated test plans for software, hardware, firmware, and IC solutions.
- Debug hardware and software issues, perform root-cause analysis, analyze test results, and report defects.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to validate products and resolve issues.
- Drive test automation, validation framework improvements, QA best practices, documentation, and process enhancements.
- Mentor team members, support testing strategy and planning, and manage multiple testing priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
- 2–5 years of Software QA experience, including the stated requirement for 8+ years testing software integrated with hardware or firmware.
- Experience developing and executing manual and automated tests, preferably with Python or another object-oriented language.
- Experience with electronics, microcontroller programming, bus communications, hardware debugging, and software/hardware or embedded testing.
- GUI test automation experience with tools such as Qt Squish, SmartBear TestComplete, or similar.
- Familiarity with laboratory test equipment, measurement tools, JIRA, version control, QA best practices, and software/hardware development lifecycles.
- Ability to mentor teams, improve test coverage, conduct detailed analysis, document test plans and root-cause findings, and drive quality initiatives.
- Background in Software QA and IC or power engineering is preferred.
