Responsibilities
- Generate test requirements and define test methodologies with global teams.
- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans for software, hardware, firmware, and IC solutions.
- Create detailed software and UI test cases using Python or another object-oriented language.
- Debug software and hardware issues, analyze test results, report defects, and determine root causes.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to validate product quality.
- Drive test automation, validation framework improvements, QA best practices, and test coverage improvements.
- Lead testing projects, mentor team members, manage lab and test development activities, and contribute to testing strategy.
- Identify risks, raise issues, and recommend product, test case, automation, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
- 12+ years of Software QA experience, including 8+ years testing software integrated with hardware or firmware.
- Strong experience analyzing and debugging complex hardware/software issues and documenting test plans, test cases, and root-cause analyses.
- Experience with electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications; power systems, semiconductors, or IC experience is desirable.
- GUI test automation experience with Python and tools such as Qt Squish, SmartBear TestComplete, or similar.
- Familiarity with laboratory test equipment and measurement tools.
- Understanding of JIRA, version control, QA best practices, and software/hardware development lifecycles.
- Experience mentoring teams, developing hardware/software tests, managing labs, improving test coverage, and driving quality initiatives.
- Software QA and IC or power engineering experience is preferred.
