Responsibilities
- Build and evolve Groove, a full-stack platform supporting planning, collaboration, and execution across Spotify.
- Design and deliver initiative tracking, planning workflow, and dependency management features.
- Develop end-to-end solutions using React, TypeScript, Java, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Partner with product managers and designers to create intuitive and effective user experiences.
- Improve frontend and backend performance, scalability, maintainability, and production reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and help respond to production incidents.
- Lead the design and delivery of complex, high-impact features across the stack.
- Own problems from ambiguous requirements through production-ready implementation.
- Define and evolve architecture across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the team’s technical bar.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building scalable full-stack applications in production environments.
- Experience working across frontend and backend technologies to build reliable products.
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and modern web application architecture.
- Experience designing systems and influencing technical direction.
- Ability to own software from implementation through production health and ongoing improvement.
- Ability to communicate clearly through documentation and collaboration in distributed teams.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and make thoughtful trade-offs involving speed, quality, and maintainability.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully and validating their output with sound engineering judgment.
- Interest in mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge, and supporting teammate growth.
