Base Salary
$131k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own critical data systems supporting multiple products and teams.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data infrastructure and automation.
- Design and implement high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for data lakes and warehouses.
- Improve the reliability and scalability of ingestion, data processing, ETL, reporting tools, and data ecosystem services.
- Manage data products that deliver high-quality, trustworthy data.
- Provide onboarding and support for other engineers.
- Lead multiple projects as a hands-on technical leader.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience as a hands-on engineer and technical leader.
- 6+ years of experience in data platforms, data engineering, or a similar role.
- Proficiency using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor across the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Scala.
- 4+ years of experience with ETL orchestration and workflow management tools such as Airflow.
- Expertise in database fundamentals, SQL, data reliability practices, and distributed computing.
- 4+ years of experience with distributed data ecosystems such as Spark and Presto and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Spark Streaming.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams.
- Knowledge of reporting tools and the ability to analyze and interpret market and consumer information.
- Ability to work independently and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be located near a DoorDash engineering hub.
