Responsibilities
- Define, apply, and evolve governance models, standards, and best practices for REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Ensure API and event compliance throughout the lifecycle, including design, publication, versioning, and deprecation.
- Implement quality controls, scoring mechanisms, and automated validations for APIs and events.
- Automate governance by incorporating controls and validations into CI/CD processes.
- Manage API and event catalogs, domains, and inventories to maintain classification and traceability.
- Apply security, access-control, audit, lineage, and observability criteria to APIs and events.
- Contribute to the design and definition of APIs, events, and contracts using REST and Event-Driven standards.
- Work cross-functionally with architecture, security, development, and business teams to support standards adoption.
- Lead or participate in workshops and enablement activities promoting appropriate API and event-driven architecture practices.
Requirements
- Approximately 5–6 years of professional experience in APIs, integration, or architecture, including API Governance and Event-Driven Architecture experience.
- Experience designing REST and asynchronous APIs and documenting contracts with Swagger/OpenAPI and AsyncAPI 2.x/3.x.
- Knowledge of Avro data schemas and experience or knowledge of Event Storming for event modeling.
- Good knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture patterns and concepts.
- Experience applying governance standards, quality controls, scoring, and automated API validations.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and automation applied to the API lifecycle.
- Experience or knowledge in API and event security, including OAuth, JWT, IAM Policies, IdP, mTLS, certificates, encryption, and ACLs.
- Knowledge of auditing, traceability, event lineage, and observability.
- Knowledge of BIAN architecture.
- Ability to work autonomously and cross-functionally with business and technology teams, with strong communication and stakeholder-interaction skills.
