Responsibilities
- Design, build, migrate, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Configure AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancing.
- Design secure AWS networking with subnets, routing, VPNs, security groups, and network controls.
- Develop automation and CI/CD pipelines and apply cloud security, monitoring, logging, encryption, and least-privilege practices.
- Deliver cloud engineering, migration, infrastructure modernisation, and application transformation projects through implementation and operational transition.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, provide client recommendations, and produce solution designs, implementation plans, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, security specialists, clients, and stakeholders across multiple projects.
- Contribute to technical proposals, estimates, internal engineering standards, reusable solutions, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar.
- Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure experience, including networking, security, identity, and infrastructure architecture.
- Experience delivering technical solutions in consulting, systems integration, managed services, or professional services environments.
- Practical Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tooling, scripting, and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
- Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills and understanding of cloud security and secure-by-design practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and client-facing technical explanation skills.
- Ability to work across multiple projects, teams, and client environments.
- Active UK Security Clearance at SC or DV level, or eligibility to obtain the required clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS certifications, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, cloud migration, regulated-sector delivery, security frameworks, technical documentation, and Agile delivery experience.
- Preferred coding experience includes Python or JavaScript.
