Responsibilities

Develop and deploy data-cleaning, data-processing, data-management, variable-creation, and variable-naming pipelines.
Maintain databases using R, Python, SQL, and GitHub in collaboration with research team members.
Create and link customized databases and analytic datasets in UNIX environments.
Develop, maintain, document, debug, and refactor software and modular data-processing pipelines.
Work with HPC computing clusters and IT personnel to troubleshoot cluster issues.
Explore data and prepare datasets for environmental health research.
Build deployable containerized data products for processing pipelines and dashboards.
Support data cataloging with JSON-based metadata schemas and assist the Senior Programmer as a programming resource.

At least two years of post-secondary experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Professional working experience with R, Python, SQL, GitHub, or related software.
Bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, informatics, or another health-data-related field preferred; a related master's degree is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of maintaining and supporting IT infrastructure systems in an HPC cluster environment.
Experience with version control for team development is desirable.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, time-management, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.

One-year term appointment from the date of hire with possible extension.
35 hours per week.
Work schedule and location may be hybrid or otherwise determined by the department based on operational needs; hybrid work must occur in a Harvard-registered state.
