Responsibilities

  • Design, code, integrate, test, debug, implement, and support mainframe applications and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise applications involving batch processing, online transaction processing, and service-enabled integrations.
  • Support production incidents, outages, recovery activities, root-cause analysis, problem determination, and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Perform small enhancements, maintenance, break/fix work, source-code changes, JCL and batch-cycle updates, and related configuration changes.
  • Participate in code reviews and quality-management reviews of designs, prototypes, specifications, requirements, and other artifacts.
  • Support unit, system, and integration testing and production implementation activities.
  • Contribute to automation, modernization, code-quality, testing, deployment, and operational-efficiency improvements.
  • Implement remediation actions addressing performance, risk, audit, compliance, and governance issues.
  • Keep engineering, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders informed about delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and incidents.
  • Use Git and enterprise source-control, change-management, release-management, and deployment practices in regulated environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of application development experience covering end-to-end design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mainframe application design and development, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and batch-processing frameworks.
  • Experience delivering enterprise applications, mainframe solutions, batch-processing systems, online transaction processing, and service-enabled integrations.
  • Knowledge of relevant business domains, mainframe platforms, engineering frameworks, development tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Git and familiarity with enterprise source control, change management, release management, and deployment practices.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools or comparable automation, with sound judgment in validating generated outputs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, infrastructure, operations, and business teams.
  • Preferred experience in financial or banking services, large-scale credit-card processing systems, and regulatory or compliance-driven environments.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Java, Angular, VBScript, Spring, and HTML5.
