Base Salary
$190k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own GovWell’s deployment and reliability platform to keep systems production-safe, observable, and resilient.
- Build and evolve CI/CD foundations for fast, safe, and repeatable deployments across multiple teams.
- Establish observability systems covering metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and on-call foundations.
- Lead incident response practices, including playbooks, escalation paths, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
- Own platform-level security and compliance foundations, including SOC 2 readiness, vulnerability management, and access controls.
- Improve infrastructure efficiency and cost performance with engineering leadership.
- Build internal tooling that reduces infrastructure overhead for product engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a backend, infrastructure, or platform engineer operating production SaaS systems at scale.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, reliability, distributed systems, and operational failure modes.
- Experience owning CI/CD, observability, incident response, and production operations end-to-end.
- Advanced use of AI tools including Cursor, Copilot, and GPT-based workflows.
- Strong coding ability using Node.js, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Ability to own a broad platform surface area in a high-ownership startup environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including documenting systems, writing RFCs, and leading postmortems.
