Responsibilities
- Secure and continuously improve Halter’s AWS environment across managed and self-managed services.
- Deploy, configure, and operate cloud security tooling, including tooling running on EC2 instances.
- Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure-as-code for security controls and configuration changes.
- Investigate security events and incidents, assess severity and blast radius, drive mitigations, and apply lessons to prevention.
- Improve incident response readiness through playbooks, alert quality, workflows, and automation.
- Evaluate and deploy SIEM/SOAR, EDR, logging, telemetry, and other security capabilities.
- Build security platform foundations that developers can consume easily.
- Participate in a security on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Deep experience with AWS and securing production cloud environments, including AWS resource types and architecture.
- Strong security operations and incident response experience, including investigation and triage.
- Experience with EDR and SIEM-style tooling is preferred.
- Ability to turn noisy signals into high-signal detections and improve monitoring over time.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills; Terraform experience is ideal, including safely reading and modifying Terraform.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and prioritize high-leverage security work.
- Pragmatic, accountable, and level-headed approach to security and incident response.
- Comfort working thoughtfully and critically with AI tools.
