Responsibilities
- Design and maintain versioned APIs with structured response schemas, streaming responses, authentication, authorization, compliance controls, and audit logging.
- Build asynchronous background jobs, polling and webhook callbacks, message-queue integrations, and event-driven pipeline orchestration.
- Implement structured logging, monitoring, drift detection, model endpoint versioning, and production reliability practices.
- Develop automated contract tests, output validation, and regression benchmarks for non-deterministic AI outputs.
- Deploy containerized APIs on Kubernetes with health checks and autoscaling, and wrap managed AI services behind internal API contracts.
- Own systems from design through production and incident resolution while creating reusable platform patterns for other teams.
Requirements
- University degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of backend-engineering experience with Python.
- Proven experience delivering AI/ML, generative AI, and agentic systems into enterprise production environments beyond prototypes or proofs of concept.
- Hands-on experience with cloud AI services across Azure and AWS, including Databricks, MLflow, Delta Lake, and Model Serving.
- Strong experience designing versioned APIs and distributed systems with asynchronous processing, background jobs, and message-based architectures.
- Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes, managing infrastructure with Terraform, and implementing observability, structured logging, and monitoring.
- Experience working in regulated environments with auditability, data controls, security, and compliance requirements.
- Good English proficiency is required; Spanish or other European languages are advantageous.
- Interest in information technology and generative artificial intelligence is valued.
