Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, and cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Partner with architects, product leaders, and digital product managers on platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Mentor engineering community members and help drive professional development within technical teams.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, excluding internship experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9 or more years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred: 5 or more years contributing to open-source frameworks and 5 or more years with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred: experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs, working with databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring senior engineers, leading architectural reviews, enforcing coding standards, and influencing technology strategy.
- Preferred: experience with observability, reliability practices, modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, and large-scale cross-functional engineering initiatives.
