Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, high-quality production software solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Review and debug code written by others while driving maintainable, scalable, and secure engineering practices.
- Promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and responsible AI adoption.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve application and system stability.
- Lead technical evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams concerning architectural designs and technology applicability.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training, certification, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of applied experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise software.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, deployment, and operational support for scalable and resilient applications.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and demonstrated ability to produce maintainable, secure, high-quality code.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools while maintaining quality, security, and performance standards.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, enterprise compliance, and coaching others on safe AI adoption.
- Proficiency across requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency, observability, security best practices, and software delivery practices.
- Experience supporting technology solutions in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying cloud-native applications using modern cloud platforms and distributed architectures.
- Strong server-side development experience with Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, JUnit, REST APIs, integration testing, and BDD practices.
- Preferred background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills with limited oversight.
- Working knowledge of financial services technology environments, controls, compliance expectations, and regulatory considerations.
