Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable backend systems for Dropbox’s Commerce Platform.
- Define and drive technical strategy for complex, customized systems.
- Lead efforts to simplify legacy architectures and reduce system fragmentation.
- Own end-to-end reliability of revenue-critical systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, Finance, and GTM teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Take ownership of large, ambiguous problem spaces and drive them from definition through execution.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 12+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, distributed backend systems.
- Strong system design skills in complex, stateful, or workflow-driven systems.
- Experience building reliable systems with a focus on validation and monitoring.
- Experience working on systems in a monetary domain such as ecommerce or billing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
