Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend pipelines and APIs in C++ and Java for the travel impact model.
- Build responsive web frontends and UI features using TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks.
- Build, evaluate, and launch consumer-facing sustainability features and integrations across AI Overviews and AI Mode.
- Collaborate with Product, Program Management, and domain advisory committees to deliver sustainability features across Search and AI platforms.
- Analyze datasets and model outputs using SQL and Python/Pandas to validate data quality and track system performance.
- Integrate AI-assisted developer workflows to improve engineering velocity and code quality.
- Discuss knowledge and use of AI tools during the hiring process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience across backend and frontend codebases.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with backend languages such as Golang, Rust, or Java.
- Preferred: experience working cross-functionally with PM, UX, UXR, gTech, and business development.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies.
- Preferred: experience with ML model coding languages such as Python.
- Preferred: experience in cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and full-stack development.
