Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and build solutions for a digital platform used by end customers.
- Set and communicate technical standards and define technical vision for features and major components.
- Design and develop scalable middle-tier services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with record-keeping teams to define and consume APIs.
- Build cloud-native and containerized deployments using Azure and AWS.
- Lead or develop data loaders using ETL tools.
- Champion secure development, support practices, and compliance efforts.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and non-production or production issue support.
- Evaluate DevAssist tool use cases and introduce modern front-end and middle-tier practices.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend leadership to shape the roadmap.
- Mentor engineers and promote code quality, engineering practices, and a strong engineering culture.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience designing and implementing web applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Expertise in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Expertise with DevAssist tools and frameworks for AI-assisted development.
- Experience with architecture and system design, messaging platforms, cloud development, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with Azure and AWS.
- Experience engineering or leading data loader development using ETL tools.
- Knowledge of secure development, compliance, API integration, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience in US benefits administration or US healthcare payer domains is highly valued.
- Knowledge of payments platform integration is preferred.
- Experience operating in mature product environments with long-term support and stability is preferred.
