Responsibilities
- Advise leadership and influence application, network, information security, database, operating system, and web technology strategies across multiple groups.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex, enterprise-wide technical challenges requiring long-term, large-scale solutions.
- Translate business objectives, enterprise technology environments, and strategic opportunities into technical engineering solutions.
- Provide technical vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on innovative business solutions.
- Evaluate industry best practices and emerging technologies and recommend innovations that improve operations or provide competitive advantage.
- Engage strategically with professionals, managers, executives, external service providers, and architecture teams across the enterprise.
- Design and develop cloud-native enterprise applications using the Java stack.
- Support enterprise delivery tooling, security and code-quality scanning, container implementations, and cloud platforms.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Experience delivering complex enterprise-wide information technology solutions.
- Experience providing design consultation at the highest technical level, including planning, integration, implementation, scalability, and problem definition.
- Experience applying new technologies to business needs in an innovative, change-driven organization.
- Ability to influence and build relationships with line-of-business stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams.
- Experience supporting senior-level leaders or executives.
- Experience with one or more enterprise delivery, configuration management, build, orchestration, or infrastructure tools, including Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, uDeploy, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Harness IO, Spinnaker, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Experience designing and developing cloud-native enterprise applications using the Java stack.
- Experience with security and code-quality scanning tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Black Duck, Checkmarx, ThreadFix, or Xray.
- Experience implementing container solutions, preferably Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms, including AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, VMware Tanzu App Service, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A master's degree or higher in computer science or finance is preferred.
