Base Salary

$179k - $269k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test reliable, high-performance software frameworks supporting autonomy functions.
  • Develop tools that provide insight into system performance and behavior.
  • Collaborate with autonomy teams to integrate their systems with the runtime infrastructure.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests to verify requirements and expected behavior.
  • Work with the simulation team to test the runtime system off-vehicle in a virtual environment.
  • Contribute to software architecture within the owned area.
  • Partner with Product Security and Functional Safety teams to harden the system and comply with automotive safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree plus 2+ years, or a PhD.
  • At least 5 years of development experience using C++11 or newer in a systems programming role.
  • Proven experience developing embedded or robotics software on resource-constrained compute platforms.
  • Experience developing in a Linux or Unix environment.
  • Ability to design software components and systems and communicate designs through documents, diagrams, and presentations.
  • Strong ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred experience with Bazel, ROS or another robotics platform, publish/subscribe communication such as ZeroMQ or MQTT, distributed and concurrent programming, POSIX APIs, embedded and real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS or SafeRTOS, and ISO-26262 or other software safety standards.
  • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required, and visa sponsorship is available.
