Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud software for medical imaging, preoperative planning, and healthcare workflows.
- Lead DICOM image processing, visualization, and 3D bone modeling solutions.
- Own complex software subsystems and services from design through production deployment.
- Drive cloud architecture decisions involving security, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Influence technical strategy across initiatives and contribute to the evolution of digital surgery platforms.
- Provide architecture guidance, mentoring, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Improve engineering automation, observability, quality, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated healthcare solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and building scalable cloud-based software systems.
- Strong expertise in Python, JavaScript, and React, including extensive experience developing REST APIs and microservices architectures.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, service-oriented design, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with DICOM data, medical imaging workflows, image visualization, and 3D processing frameworks such as VTK.
- Ability to independently lead complex software initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
