Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant software solutions for transmitting millions of messages monthly.
- Design and evolve architectures for complex clearinghouse-specific EDI and API data mappings.
- Implement error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms in asynchronous workflows.
- Collaborate with external clearinghouse partners to debug and troubleshoot non-standard integration systems.
- Ensure compliance with EDI protocols and federal healthcare standards, including HIPAA security and privacy requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, product engineering, and cross-functional teams to deploy solutions and integrate technologies and frameworks.
- Document application features, data flows, and processes.
- Adapt to and transition between programming languages and technologies as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing robust software solutions, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong skills building and integrating APIs and scaling API systems cost-effectively.
- Proficiency in PHP, Python, or a comparable programming language, with willingness to learn new languages.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new programming languages and manage technology transitions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: familiarity with ANSI EDI transactions 837, 277, 999, and 835.
- Preferred: knowledge of healthcare data interchange standards including HL7 and FHIR.
- Preferred: leadership experience through technical ownership, mentorship, project leadership, or people management.
