Base Salary
$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the scaling of HappyRobot’s operational resilience.
- Own system stability, observability, and debugging workflows.
- Investigate complex production failures in real time and identify root causes.
- Build internal tooling that reduces incident load and improves reliability workflows.
- Help shift operations from reactive incident response to proactive reliability.
- Improve developer focus and system uptime.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience debugging production systems, including logs, traces, and incidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in unfamiliar backend codebases.
- Strong experience with Go and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Sentry.
- Clear and calm communication under pressure, particularly during live incidents.
- Experience with distributed systems or services at scale is preferred.
- Experience building or maintaining internal tooling for on-call teams or reliability workflows is preferred.
- Familiarity with deployment pipelines, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code is preferred.
- Experience improving observability through custom metrics, traces, or log pipelines is preferred.
